How to add a signature in the Outlook app on iPhone and Android

These steps are for the Outlook app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone. The Outlook app keeps its own signature, typed in on the phone, separate from the formatted one in desktop Outlook. The Outlook overview covers the desktop Outlooks.

Add a signature in the Outlook app

To add a signature in the Outlook app on iPhone or Android:

1. Tap the Accounts icon at the top left, then the gear at the bottom left.
2. Under "Mail", tap "Signature".
3. Delete "Get Outlook for iOS" or "Get Outlook for Android" and type or paste your name, title, company and phone, one per line.
4. Tap the back arrow (iPhone) or "Save" (Android).

The Outlook app can keep one signature for every account or a separate one for each. In the app's Settings, tap "Signature" under "Mail", turn on "Per Account Signature", and type a signature for each account listed.

How do I remove "Get Outlook for iOS" from my emails?

"Get Outlook for iOS" and "Get Outlook for Android" are the Outlook app's default signature. To remove it, open the app's Settings, tap "Signature" under "Mail", and delete the text, or replace it with your own signature. On a work phone, an administrator can also turn the default signature off for everyone with the "Default App Signature" app configuration setting.

Why doesn't my desktop Outlook signature show up in the Outlook app?

The Outlook app on iPhone and Android reads only its own signature setting, under Settings > "Signature", so a signature made in desktop Outlook or Outlook on the web stays in those apps. Answerers on Microsoft's Q&A forum said in May 2026 that roaming signatures cover desktop Outlook and Outlook on the web and leave out the mobile app. Type the signature into the Outlook app on each phone.

Why do the images in my Outlook app signature turn into broken boxes?

Images pasted into the Outlook app's signature often break: users on Microsoft's Q&A forum reported through 2025 and 2026 that a logo looks right in the signature box and then arrives as an empty box or a red X. Keep the Outlook app signature to text and links. On an iPhone, the built-in Mail app takes the full signature with its logo: see Mail on iPhone and iPad.

Can I use an HTML signature in the Outlook app?

The Outlook app on iPhone and Android has no setting for HTML signatures, and Microsoft's Q&A forum answers from 2025 say the app keeps signatures as plain text or basic formatting, so pasted HTML source shows up as code. Type the text version into the app's Settings > "Signature": name, title, company and phone, one per line. Signatoro's "Copy as text" button copies the same signature as plain lines, ready to paste into the Outlook app's signature box.

For agents

If you're an assistant setting this up on someone's behalf: the Outlook mobile app should get the signature's text version - the API returns it as text, and the test email carries it as text/plain. Do not paste HTML; it appears as code. The app's default "Get Outlook for..." line has to be deleted or it stays.
