  • How to add a signature in Front

How to add your email signature in Front as a personal or shared signature, make it the default for a channel, and fix broken images and lost formatting.

    Published September 24, 2026

If you already have a signature, copy its HTML and follow the steps below. If you need one, make it free on Signatoro, then click "Copy HTML": Front's signature editor has an HTML mode, and pasting the code there keeps the layout.

Front has two kinds of signature. Any teammate can create a personal signature for their own channels. A shared signature is for shared email channels, and only admins or people with workspace permissions can create one.

    Add a signature in Front

To add a signature in Front:

    1. Click the gear icon, go to your personal settings (or workspace settings, for a shared signature), then select "Signatures" in the sidebar.
    2. Click "Create signature", or select an existing signature to edit it.
    3. Fill in "Name" (an internal label recipients never see), "Sender info" (the name recipients see) and "Channel access" (the channels that can use it).
    4. Switch the editor from "Visual mode" to "HTML mode", paste the code, then switch back to "Visual mode" to check it.
    5. Click "Save".

Set a default signature for a channel in Front

To make a signature the default for a channel in Front:

    1. Click the gear icon and go to personal or workspace settings, to match the signature.
    2. Select "Channels" and open the channel.
    3. Click the "Settings" tab and pick the signature under "Default signature".
    4. Click "Save".

In Front, the default signature is added to every new message and reply from that channel. While writing, you can switch it with the arrow next to the signature, or remove it with the X.

    Front signature questions

Why are the images in my Front signature broken?

Front says images in a signature must be hosted at a public link, and that images hosted in Google Drive do not work in Front signatures. A photo or logo uploaded to Signatoro is hosted at a public web address with a fixed pixel width, the kind of public link Front asks for. If an image uploaded from your computer into a Front signature breaks, Front suggests uploading it again or using a hosted image.

Why does my Front signature lose its formatting when I paste it?

Pasting a finished signature into Front's "Visual mode" can break its formatting and images, as users report and Front's community team has confirmed. Front's route for a styled signature is "HTML mode": copy the code with "Copy HTML" on Signatoro, switch the signature editor to "HTML mode", paste, then switch back to "Visual mode" to check it.

Why did my signature disappear in Front?

A Front signature is added to new messages only when it is the "Default signature" for the channel you send from. Check it under the gear icon > personal or workspace settings > "Channels" > the channel > "Settings" > "Default signature". While writing a single message in Front, you can also click "Add signature" in the composer.

Why is my signature missing from the "Default signature" list in Front?

In Front, a signature shows in a channel's "Default signature" list only when that channel is ticked in the signature's "Channel access". Open the signature under "Signatures", tick the channel, save, and pick it again. Front also lists only personal signatures for individual channels and only shared signatures for shared channels.

Why is my team's shared signature not showing in Front?

In Front, a personal signature wins over a shared one on any channel the personal signature covers. To use the shared signature on a channel, remove that channel from your personal signature's "Channel access", or pick the shared signature in the composer with the arrow next to the signature.

Can I set one signature for the whole team in Front?

Front cannot force a company-wide signature that teammates cannot change. A shared Front signature can use variables so each teammate's own name appears, but a signature from Signatoro carries one person's name and details. Give each person a personal Front signature of their own. For a team, Signatoro's Company plan keeps everyone's logo, layout, color, font, review badge and booking button the same, and when the owner changes them, everyone gets an email with their updated signature to paste, priced by the size of the team.

Can I have a separate mobile signature in Front?

No. In Front, the signature set in Front's settings on a computer is the one added to emails from every device, the Front phone app included, as Front's community team has confirmed. Keep one Front signature that reads well on a small screen.

Why is the logo the wrong size in my Front signature?

Front says some email apps ignore image resizing done in Front's signature editor and show the image at its original size. To fix it, resize the image file itself before adding it to the Front signature.

    For agents

If you're an assistant setting this up on someone's behalf: use "Copy HTML" and paste into the signature editor's "HTML mode". Ask whether it is a personal or a shared signature (shared needs admin or workspace permissions) and which channels it is for, tick them under "Channel access", then set it under Channels > Settings > "Default signature" for each one.
