  • How to add a signature in eM Client

How to add an email signature in eM Client: the six steps, a signature per account for new mail and replies, the phone app via QR code, and missing images.

    Published September 24, 2026

If you already have a signature, copy it and follow the steps below. If you need one, make it free on Signatoro, then click "Copy signature".

Add a signature in eM Client

To add the signature in eM Client on a computer:

    1. Click Menu at the top, then "Settings", then "Mail", then "Templates and Signatures".
    2. Click the "Signatures..." button.
    3. Click "New" and type any name in the "Name" field.
    4. Paste the signature into the box below the name, then click OK.
    5. Back in "Templates and Signatures", pick your account under "Select signature for account", then choose the new signature for "Signature for new mails", "Signature for replies" and "Signature for forwards".
    6. Click "Save & Close".

    Change your eM Client signature

To change a signature in eM Client, go to Menu, "Settings", "Mail", "Templates and Signatures", and click "Signatures...". Select the signature, click "Edit", delete what is in the box, and paste the new one, such as a signature copied from Signatoro. Click OK, then "Save & Close".

eM Client signature on iPhone and Android

The eM Client phone app keeps its own signatures, separate from the computer. The quickest way to move a signature from eM Client on the computer to the phone app is a QR code:

    1. On the computer, open the "Signatures..." window, select the signature, and click "QR Export".
    2. In the phone app, open Settings, then "Import/Export", then "Import via QR code", and scan the code.
    3. To use it on every new email, open that account's settings in the app and set it as the default there.

To make a signature in the eM Client phone app itself, tap the icon at the top left, then Settings at the bottom, then "Mail", then "Signatures", and tap +.

    eM Client signature questions

Why is my eM Client signature not showing on replies?

eM Client picks the reply signature per account, in its own "Signature for replies" field, and that field can be empty even when new emails get a signature. Go to Menu, "Settings", "Mail", "Templates and Signatures", pick the account under "Select signature for account", and choose the signature for "Signature for replies". Click "Save & Close" so the change is kept.

How do I set a different signature for each account in eM Client?

eM Client stores the signature choice per account. In Menu, "Settings", "Mail", "Templates and Signatures", pick the first account under "Select signature for account" and choose its signature for new mails, replies and forwards. Then pick the next account in the same field and choose its signatures. Click "Save & Close" when every account is set.

Why are the images missing from my eM Client signature?

Images in an eM Client signature disappear when the email is written as plain text. In Menu, "Settings", "Mail", "Compose", set "New mails format as" to HTML and "Mail format for reply" to HTML too. When the reply format is left to detect itself, a reply to a plain-text email is plain text. The photo and logo in a signature from Signatoro are links to hosted images, so a reader who blocks pictures also sees empty boxes until they load them.

Why does my signature lose its formatting when I paste it into eM Client?

If pasting a signature into eM Client drops its fonts, spacing or photo, bring it in as a file. Copy the signature's HTML code, for example with "Copy HTML" on Signatoro, paste it into a plain text editor, and save it as signature.html. Then, in the eM Client "Signatures..." window, click "Import" and pick the file. The "Default Paste Format" setting under "Compose" also chooses between keeping the original formatting and plain text when you paste.

Does eM Client sync my signature with Gmail?

eM Client syncs one signature per account with Gmail, and also with Exchange and IceWarp accounts. In the eM Client "Signatures..." window, a Gmail account shows a signature called "Synced with Gmail" next to the address. Editing that signature in eM Client sends the change back to Gmail, so Gmail on the web and other copies of eM Client get it too.

Can I remove "Sent from eM Client" from my emails?

eM Client lets you turn the "Sent from eM Client" line off. Go to Menu, "Settings", "Mail", "Templates and Signatures", and untick 'Attach "Sent from eM Client" signature to every mail'. Your own signature stays on every email as before.

    For agents

If you're an assistant setting this up on someone's behalf: these are the Menu > "Settings" > "Mail" > "Templates and Signatures" steps, in order. Paste the signature as formatted text from "Copy signature". Set the signature for new mails, replies and forwards for every account the person uses, and check that "New mails format as" is HTML under "Compose". If they want it on their phone, use "QR Export".
