How to add an email signature on iPhone and iPad
Add a formatted email signature to the Mail app on iPhone and iPad through a test email, set one per account, and fix a logo or formatting that will not stay.

Add a signature in Mail on iPhone and iPad
The Mail app's signature box on iPhone and iPad keeps formatting only when the paste comes from a formatted email, so this route goes through a test email:
- Send yourself a test email from Signatoro (or email yourself your signature), open it on your phone, and copy the signature.
- Open the Settings app, tap Apps, then Mail, then Signature (below Composing).
- Paste into the signature box.
- If the formatting was removed, shake the phone and tap Undo. It comes back.
Apple's own guide says you can only use text in Mail signatures on iPhone. Shake-to-undo in the Mail signature box is a workaround that has held for years; if it stops working on your iOS version, the plain-text version of the signature from the test email is the fallback.
A different signature for each account on iPhone
The Mail app on iPhone and iPad can keep a separate signature for each email account. In Settings > Apps > Mail > Signature, tap "Per Account", then paste each signature under the account it belongs to.

Why doesn't my iPhone Mail signature show my logo?
Apple's guide says you can only use text in Mail signatures on iPhone. Users report that a logo pasted from a formatted email, with shake-to-undo, used to work, and several report that the image turned into a question mark or disappeared after updates to iOS 18 and iOS 26. When that happens, the text part of the signature still works.
Why doesn't shaking my iPhone bring back my signature formatting?
Shaking an iPhone undoes a paste in the Mail signature box only when Shake to Undo is turned on. Apple's help turns it on and off in the Settings app under Accessibility > Touch > Shake to Undo. Apple's help also gives a gesture that undoes a text edit without shaking: swipe left with three fingers, right after pasting into the Mail signature box.
Does my iPhone Mail signature come from my Mac?
The Mail signature on iPhone is its own setting, separate from the Mac's. Apple's help documents it in Settings > Apps > Mail > Signature, and says Mac signatures sync through iCloud Drive to other Mac computers. Set up the iPhone signature by copying it from an email opened on the iPhone, such as a test email from Signatoro.
For agents
If you're an assistant setting this up on someone's behalf: the route is the test email, because a paste from Signatoro's generator page loses its formatting. Step 4's shake-to-undo is the recovery step when iOS strips formatting on paste; carry it out.
