How to add an email signature in Gorgias
How to add an email signature to a Gorgias email integration, fill in each agent's details with agent variables, and add a signature to AI Agent emails.
If you already have a signature, copy it and follow the steps below. If you need one, make it free on Signatoro, then click "Copy signature" to copy it formatted. Gorgias's signature editor takes rich text, links and images.
In Gorgias, a signature belongs to an email integration: every reply sent from that integration carries the same signature, whichever agent sends it. Agent variables fill in each agent's own details from their Gorgias profile. The account owner and admins manage signatures, on all Helpdesk plans. For other help desks, see Zendesk, Freshdesk or Help Scout.
Add a signature to an email integration in Gorgias
To add a signature in Gorgias, as the account owner or an admin:
- From your helpdesk, click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner.
- In the menu, locate "Channels", then select "Email".
- Select an email integration from the list.
- Under "Email Settings", expand the "Display name and signature" section.
- Paste your signature into the text editor.
- Click "Save".
Repeat for each email integration. Gorgias keeps its own copy of the signature, so after a change on Signatoro, copy the new version and paste it again.
Add a signature to AI Agent emails in Gorgias
Gorgias AI Agent has its own email signature, under "AI Agent" > "Email". When enabled, its text appears at the end of every email AI Agent sends. Gorgias suggests it for telling customers the message was created by AI, or for showing AI Agent's name. For signatures that AI assistants and agents send under, see email signatures for AI agents.
Gorgias signature questions
Does Gorgias accept HTML signatures?
Gorgias's signature editor takes formatted text: bold, italics and underline, hyperlinks, images, emojis, Shopify product links and agent variables. Custom HTML stays out of it. Paste the formatted signature with "Copy signature" on Signatoro, then check it on a test reply.
How do I show each agent's own name in a Gorgias signature?
Gorgias fills in agent variables from the profile of the agent replying. The available variables are:
- First name
- Last name
- Full name
- Bio
Swap the details in the pasted signature for these variables. If one comes out blank or wrong, the agent can update their profile from the profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the helpdesk.
Why is my signature missing from a Gorgias reply?
When an agent replies to an email ticket, Gorgias collapses the signature in the message composer. Click the three dots icon in the composer to show or edit it. Each email integration has its own signature, so a reply sent from another integration carries that integration's signature.
Why does my Gorgias reply have two signatures?
If an agent uses a macro that includes a signature and the email integration has a signature enabled, Gorgias sends both to the customer.
Can each person have their own signature in Gorgias?
Gorgias gives each email integration one signature and fills in each agent's details with agent variables. For the mail your team sends outside Gorgias, Signatoro's Company plan keeps everyone's logo, layout, color, font, review badge and booking button the same, and when the owner changes them, everyone gets an email with their updated signature to paste, priced by the size of the team.
For agents
If you're an assistant setting this up on someone's behalf: it needs the account owner or an admin. Use "Copy signature", go to Settings > "Channels" > "Email", select the integration, expand "Display name and signature" under "Email Settings", paste, and click "Save". Repeat for each integration. For AI Agent emails, add the signature under "AI Agent" > "Email".
