Grok Bot now adds your Gmail signature to drafts: what changed in October

Between October 22 and 27, 2026, xAI changed what a Grok Bot's email looks like: Gmail drafts carry your saved signature (sends without a draft still do not, in our test), email from the Bot's mail.grokbot.com address carries a one-click unsubscribe, and bounced addresses are skipped. What changed, what it means for your signature, and what to check.

Since Grok Bot 0.75.2, released on October 22, 2026, xAI's changelog says that emails a Bot sends through Gmail carry the signature saved in Gmail for the sending address. Four days later, version 0.77.0 put a one-click unsubscribe on every email a Bot sends from its mail.grokbot.com address to one person, and stopped Bots from writing to addresses that have permanently bounced. If your Bots send through Gmail, the signature saved in Gmail now appears at the end of the emails you approve as drafts, next to any signature you told the Bot to add. In our test on November 3, a Bot sending with drafts off still left it out. Send one test each way and make sure every email ends with a single signature.

What xAI changed, release by release

All from the Grok Bot changelog:

    • v0.75.2, October 22, 2026. "Emails a Bot sends through Gmail show your name and the signature saved for that address, and reply drafts stay in their thread." Also: "The first email a Bot sends to someone new includes a one-click unsubscribe link", and the built-in Gmail connection can attach files, reply all and add a note when forwarding.
    • v0.75.5, October 23, 2026. "Emails and Slack messages you ask a Bot to send go out once Auto-review allows them, while sends on routine and other turns still wait as drafts." Bots can also forward an email from their own inbox "with its original formatting, images, and attachments".
    • v0.77.0, October 26, 2026. "Every email a Bot sends from its own address to one other person now includes a one-click unsubscribe, not just the first." Also: "Bots no longer send email to addresses that have permanently bounced," and Gmail replies quote the original so Gmail folds the thread, with "signature logos" staying inline.
    • v0.78.1, October 27, 2026. "Gmail drafts the Bot writes in plain text open in rich text, so they read well on a phone and send without hard line breaks," and Bot emails retry once when the mail server connection times out.

The signature line builds on an earlier one about drafts: v0.70.2, on October 11, said "Gmail drafts use your default send-as address and add your own signature, not one quoted from someone else." Version 0.75.2 is the first to say it of emails a Bot sends.

What your recipients see now, by mailbox

From your Gmail, through the plugin. With drafts on, your name and the signature saved in Gmail for the address the Bot sends from. On November 3, 2026, we retested the current Grok Bot with a default Gmail signature: the email it sent from an approved draft carried the signature, and with drafts off the same request arrived without one. In our October 10 test of 0.68.1, Gmail sends arrived without it either way. A Bot that sends on its own still needs its signature given to it.

From your Outlook, through the plugin. The changelog through 0.78.1 has no line about an Outlook signature. In our October 10 test, Outlook sends arrived without one. Give the Bot its signature yourself.

From your mail.grokbot.com address or one of its plus aliases. The changelog entries for this address are the one-click unsubscribe on email to one person and the skipped bounces. It has no saved signature, so the email ends with whatever sign-off the Bot writes until you give it one.

The unsubscribe link and Gmail's sender rules

Gmail's sender guidelines say that "Marketing messages and subscribed messages must support one-click unsubscribe", for senders of more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail accounts. xAI's changelog gives no reason for the link. In our test on November 3, 2026, an email the Bot sent through the Gmail plugin carried no unsubscribe link; by the changelog it belongs to email from the Bot's own address, which we have not tested. Where it does appear, it means two things:

    • The person you email can stop the Bot from writing again in one click.
    • The signature says who sent it. An unsubscribe link tells the reader how to stop the mail; a signature tells them who is behind it and on whose behalf the Bot writes.

    What to do now

    1. Send yourself a test from each mailbox your Bots use. Ask a Bot to email another address of yours through Gmail, through Outlook and from mail.grokbot.com, then open each one in the recipient's inbox.
    2. Count the signatures in the Gmail email. If you told the Bot to fetch its signature from Signatoro and Gmail now adds yours too, the email can end with two. The post on duplicate signatures from AI has the wording that keeps one.
    3. Choose one source for Gmail. Either keep your Gmail signature and tell the Bot not to add another, or keep the Signatoro fetch and turn the signature off for that address in Gmail's settings. To keep both the same, paste your Signatoro signature into Gmail with the Gmail guide.
    4. Give Outlook and mail.grokbot.com sends a signature. A Bot with a Signatoro API key fetches its signature before each email, so these mailboxes sign too. The Grok Bot guide sets up one signature for each Bot, with a line saying it is an AI and whom it acts for.
    5. Check Auto-review before you turn drafts off. Since 0.75.5, a send you ask for goes out once Auto-review allows it, while routine sends still wait as drafts. Keep drafts on for a Bot until its test email looks right.

    Where Signatoro fits

Signatoro is the agentic email signature platform: save your signature once, and your people and every AI agent you connect use the same one. For Grok Bot, that covers the mailboxes the changelog leaves without a signature: Outlook, mail.grokbot.com and its plus aliases, and any Bot you want signing under its own name. Each Bot gets its own key and signs as the Bot you set up for it, so a Bot that books travel and one that chases invoices each carry their own signature. Change the signature once on Signatoro, and the next email from every Bot carries it.

Grok Bot email signature sums up each mailbox and the signature it needs, and the post on Grok Bot email covers how Bots came to send email in the first place.

    Questions people ask

Does Grok Bot add my Gmail signature now?

For drafts, yes. xAI's changelog says so since version 0.75.2 of October 22, 2026: "Emails a Bot sends through Gmail show your name and the signature saved for that address." In our test on November 3, an email sent from an approved draft carried the Gmail signature, and one sent with drafts off did not. Our test of 0.68.1 on October 10 found none either way.

Does Grok Bot add my Outlook signature?

The changelog through version 0.78.1, October 27, 2026, does not say so. Give the Bot your signature through the Signatoro API, or paste it into your instructions for the Bot, and check one sent email.

Why do emails from my Grok Bot have an unsubscribe link?

xAI's changelog says that since version 0.75.2 the first email a Bot sends to someone new includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and since 0.77.0 every email a Bot sends from its mail.grokbot.com address to one other person does. It does not offer a setting to remove it. In our test on November 3, 2026, an email sent through the Gmail plugin carried none; we have not tested the mail.grokbot.com address.

Why didn't my Grok Bot send an email to a contact?

Since version 0.77.0, Bots no longer send email to addresses that have permanently bounced. Check the address with the person another way, and correct it in the Bot's Vault contacts.
